Micheal Pheilps wins 8 gold in olympics
August 21, 2008 – 12:27 pmMichael Phelps has finally won the 8th gold medal in Beijing Olympics 2008 and broke his tie with Mark Spitz. Phelps won his eighth gold medal as member of the U.S. 400-meter medley relay team.
His team which included Aron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Phelps himself and Jason Lezak won in a world-record of 3 minutes, 29.34 seconds, lowering the old mark of 3:30.68 set four years ago in Athens. Australia and Japan got silver and bronze respectively.
Phelps has won 8 out of his 8 possible gold medals in Beijing 2008 Olympic games and has arguably become the greatest Olympian of all times.
