The Big Breaking News! Indian boxer Vijender Kumar won his quarterfinal bout against Carlos Gongora of Ecuador and assured himself of an Olympic medal, which will be India’s third individual medal at Beijing Olympics. Vijender won on points 9-4. Vijender moved to the semifinals of 75kg Middleweight Boxing event at Beijing Olympics, but he is now assured of at least a bronze medal, as all four semi-finalists get medals in Olympic Boxing.

Micheal Pheilps wins 8 gold in olympics
August 21st, 2008 harikumar Michael Phelps has finally won the 8th gold medal in Beijing Olympics 2008 and broke his tie with Mark Spitz. Phelps won his eighth gold medal as member of the U.S. 400-meter medley relay team.
His team which included Aron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Phelps himself and Jason Lezak won in a world-record of 3 minutes, 29.34 seconds, lowering the old mark of 3:30.68 set four years ago in Athens. Australia and Japan got silver and bronze respectively.
Phelps has won 8 out of his 8 possible gold medals in Beijing 2008 Olympic games and has arguably become the greatest Olympian of all times.
